The need for change in Hygiene safety and legal regulations in a country with a population of over 200 million must become of concern to the federal government of Nigeria

Standards and Hygiene regulations must be established through a scheme and monitored by an agency to help with food borne diseases and illness from contamination, through poor health hygiene practices, especially commercial consumption of food and drinks.

The spread of Lassa fever, Listeriosis, salmonella and e coli are mostly food borne diseases spread through poor hygiene I.e through the use of dirty utensils and poor hygiene handling of food.

The surdid rate at which food borne illnesses have risen from poor hygiene by commercial operators due to no  regulations and monitoring scheme to help reduce the rise of food borne diseases that can lead to mortality is a source of concern and it should be to the public interest that a petition should be signed for the implementation of a Hygiene scheme under a health agency. It will not only save lives but also create employment.

In conclusion this regulatory body will not only help to save lives but will also standardised food hygiene and trainings in Nigeria thereby saving the Gross National Income, GNI of the country by creating employment and establishing a healthier and safer Nigeria

Reasons for signing

You want to take bread from people that are struggling to even rent shops when Buhari is not helping the only reason it will be approved is it will become a money making machine Nigeria same story.

My view is to get this petition on radio stations and the tv for more awareness across to get more people to sign .

My friend almost died from food poisoning and I will be part of those to say more knowledge to the person who is initiating this and I hope he gets support to promote this .

Eke Chimaroke

Food hygiene is a very important element of good health. Millions have lost their lifes as a result of food poisoning and contaminated utensil. This scheme is a great initiative and should be adopted.

Hope some people in government won’t try and hinder its inception Nigerians can be wicked but happy someone is trying to bring change

The little things we take for granted are actually the most important how will a country like the person said over 200 million people won’t have a regulation body to help with hygiene commercially that’s sad .

With the recent spread of Ebola in West Africa it will be logical for a regulatory system to be in place especially on hygiene for commercial food organisations and individuals Keep the good work.

For years I hoped that Nigeria will join the rest of the the developed nations such as the US AND UK In food hygiene standards this Na wetin I call God Your head is there to the person that put this petition here more knowledge to you sir .

If I am wrong Nafdac has other food and drug regulations but I haven’t noticed any on food hygiene so I believe it will be good for the public.

Eating outside can be harmful having a health regulation system that foresees the overall conduct will be a step towards a healthy country.
